It’s interesting to note that unlike Adobe, Sony does not use special h.264 hardware acceleration for decoding (e.g. the SX230 HS, dSLRs) were previewed in real time. On my DELL laptop (1.3 Ghz i3 mobile CPU), 1080/24p footage from Canon’s digital cameras (e.g. The other big new feature is the update of the h.264 decoder, which is now faster than in Vegas Platinum 10, and night-and-day vastly faster than on versions 7, 8, and 9. Only disadvantage of this new feature is that the companion DVD Architect application wasn’t upgraded to a newer version, so it can’t burn 3D Blu-Ray disks, but rather a “baked” 3D look, e.g. Vegas now allows the user to “bind” together two streams, edit them as one, and watch the preview window in various 3D modes (e.g. It was always relatively easy to shoot in 3D (just put two identical cameras next to each other on a dual tripod-head, and bang two stones together to help syncing in post), but editing the two resulting streams on a single timeline was never easy. 3D is not new in the filmmaking world, but many argue that this time is here to stay, and it has now invaded the consumer space as well. The biggest new feature is of course stereoscopic 3D support. Note: I have fully reviewed Vegas in the past here on OSNews, so this article will mostly talk about the new features, since the rest of the experience hasn’t really changed. A variety of new features can be found in it, most importantly 3D stereoscopic editing support, and a faster h.264 decoder for AVCHD/digicam/dSLR footage. A few days ago Sony released the 11th version of their consumer “Movie Studio HD Platinum” version of their popular PC video editing platform, Vegas.

Sony movie studio platinum 12 keeps crashing

Officers could not find any obvious signs of injury. On Wednesday this week, Colorado Parks and Wildlife issued a news release stating that a roughly 220lb brown bear had to be tranquilized and relocated after it climbed a tree and stayed there all through the night after it was suspected of being hit by a car. Up to September 14 this year, at least six bears had been hit by cars in Yosemite National Park alone, according to the National Park Service (NPS). Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for bears to be hit by cars along national park roads. The bear was then taken to the Appalachian Bear Rescue facility where she was named Myrtle. X-ray scans revealed the cub did not have any fractures but was bleeding from her nose and vets worked to prevent swelling on her brain. The bear was identified as a roughly 8-month-old female cub weighing 27.6 lbs. No fractures were found and the animal has since been recovering. A photo posted by Appalachian Bear Rescue to its Facebook page on October 1 shows Myrtle the bear receiving veterinary care after being hit by a car in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
